Free tools from Cima Consulting
Free tools for opening a practice or treatment program
Two tools that answer the first questions people ask us: how long until I can see clients, what's left to do, and what will insurance credentialing cost. Each one runs on the same rules, prices and Texas roadmaps our consultants use, and neither asks for your email to show you the answer.

Find your break-evenWhich tool to start with
- Not open yet? Start with the readiness review. With the basics in place, an insurance-based solo practice usually takes about 12 weeks to its first client, a group about 16 and an IOP or PHP about 26; the review shows how your answers change that.
- Already open and adding insurance? Use the credentialing cost calculator. A solo clinician with a CAQH profile and four plans comes to $950 with us, flat; the government filings themselves are free.
- Opening a program? Run the readiness review first: a Texas SUD program needs its HHSC license before it treats anyone, and plans contract with it only after that, so the license sets the calendar. Then read how to start an IOP or PHP in Texas.
How these tools work
The readiness review is a port of the review our consulting app runs on every inquiry: the same 18 questions, the same seven basics (state license, business, EIN, NPI, CAQH, malpractice, a place to see clients), the same package rules and the same risk flags. Its milestones come from our Texas roadmaps, which run from 46 steps for a recovery residence to 118 for an SUD program. The calculator uses our published prices and the typical days from our payer directory. When a price changes in the app, these tools change with it.
Both are starting points. Plans and agencies set their own pace, a form can't see your market or your building, and nothing here is a promise of an approval, a rate or a date. A free 30-minute call adds the part a form can't.
Guides that go with them
- How to start a private practice in Texas: the business, NPI, CAQH and insurance panels, step by step.
- Insurance credentialing: how we file, follow up and confirm effective dates, with Texas Medicaid and Medicare notes.
- How to open a sober living home in Texas: house rules, certification and the referral laws.
- The VOB checklist: what to verify before an admission, once you're in network.
Ready for a dated plan?
Every launch package is a flat fee, from $1,950 for a solo practice to $32,500 for a program carried through accreditation, paid in parts as the work lands.
